Electrical Engineer - Full-Time
  Creates the engineering design of assigned projects to meet the customer's technical specifications, the Company's proposal, applicable national standards and codes, and enginnering practices. Establishes and maintains good communication with the customer concerning all technical issues and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
Responsibilities
  Identifies the technical requirements which may require a project change order and brings this to the attention of the Project Manager. Provides technical support for the development of the change order. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, generates the project bill of materials to meet the customer specifications and provides the bill of materials to the Purchasing department for timely acquisition. Prepares, submits, and obtains approval from the customer of all aspects of the technical design as required by the project specifications. Approval is obtained in a timely manner to meet the project schedule. With the Project Manager's assistance, provides information and collaborates with the mechanical design area such that the electrical design can proceed in accordance to schedule. With the Project Manager's assistance, develops and provides drafting with one-line diagrams, bill of materials, schematics, and wiring information to complete the project. Expeditiously resolves all technical issues with the customer, Manufacturing department, and Testing department to meet project schedule milestones. Conducts all technical communication with the customer in a timely and professional manner. Provides timely notification to the Project Manager of any deviation from the project schedule related to the engineering effort for the project or of any situation, conflict, or delay that has the potential of impacting the project completion. Conducts periodic walk-throughs of assigned projects in the plant. Advises and resolves all issues encountered during these walk-throughs with the appropriate production area lead personnel. Provides all information to the Engineering Clerk for the timely preparation and compilation of the project instruction documentation. Prepares and provides timely nameplate lists and ID tags to assembly area. Inspects, reviews test reports, and signs-off on the finished product.
Job Requirements
  Bachelor's degree (BS) from four year college or university in engineering or engineering technology (electrical power systems preferred)and 1-2 years related experience and/or training. PE can substitute for degree requirements. Familiarity with and ability to use computers essential. Position also requires excellent communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and time management skills. Knowledge of switchgear products preferred.
