| Applications Engineer-Electrical Switchgear - Full-Time |

Prepares and conducts engineering review of proposal documents in accordance with customer's plans, specifications and understood needs to achieve product sales goals by performing the following duties: |
| Responsibilities |
| |
1. Acts as the liaison between the engineering department and estimators.
2. Attends preorder customer meetings as the Company representative.
3. Provides review of all specifications to assure proposal documents are in compliance with customer's plans, technical specifications and understood needs.
4. Prepares detailed cost estimate of components, labor and other expenses based on customer plans and specifications.
5. Assists in development of alternate designs for pricing and customer proposal.
6. Initiates contact with the customer and/or their engineer to ascertain a complete understanding of the requirements described in the bid specifications.
7. Ensures all components comprising the total cost and resultant sale price are as specified and required.
8. Reviews work of other Estimators to minimize errors.
9. Reviews past job costs on a regular basis.
10. Assembles or reviews new job files when a purchase order is received prior to sending to Contract Administration.
11. Assists Sales Department in project kickoff meetings with Engineering Department.
12. Travels when necessary to assist Sales Department as needed.

| Job Requirements |
| |
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, or Industrial Technology, or related science degree from a four year college or university with four or more years of electrical switchgear experience. Good working knowledge of switchgear and power electricity theory. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. |
